About BATCH

BATCH started as a passion project by three lifelong friends, Dennis, Griff, and Andy. Growing up in the Milwaukee area, they later attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where they sparked their entrepreneurial spirit. Their love for serving the community grew into the wellness brand we know today.

With their chemistry background and Wisconsin’s hemp legalization, they created the high-quality products and formulas BATCH is known for today.

The problem

BATCH focused on getting more customers to return after their first purchase, as repeat revenue was crucial for the business's growth. However, figuring out when to target these customers was a challenge. The team saw that even a small increase in repeat customers could lead to a significant revenue boost.

Before switching to Relo, BATCH used Klaviyo’s standard Replenishment flow. But it didn’t solve the issue of predicting the right time to reach customers or making their buying journey smoother. The flow targeted everyone at the same time without taking into account how different customers used the product.

Plus, after clicking the call-to-action (CTA), customers were sent through the usual shopping journey—from the product page to the cart and then to checkout. This meant BATCH missed out on potential revenue by not making it easier for customers to return.

"Our default flows, which we were firing at a static 30 days after purchase, didn't match many repeat purchase frequencies. Additionally, these flows primarily relied on what product the customer previously bought, with little to zero cross-selling."

Griffin Lynch, COO, BATCH, commenting on the problems faced prior to Relo.

How BATCH solved this using Relo

BATCH used Relo’s smart predictive reordering feature to target customers at just the right time through their usual Klaviyo emails based on their order history. Each person received a personalized message depending on what product was purchased when it was bought, and the customer’s history with BATCH. So, how does it work?

BATCH connected Relo to their Shopify store, allowing them to predict when customers would likely need to replenish their products. These predictions are made for each customer, considering the product they last ordered, how many they bought, their past order history, and other related data points.

Relo then automatically synced those predictions straight to BATCH’s Klaviyo dashboard, immediately making them actionable and driving revenue straight away:

Here’s an example of a BATCH email with personalized predictions for the customer. The product recommendations are tailored to each customer, as shown in the Klaviyo preview on the right. In this case, Relo predicted James might want to reorder "Recreation THC Gummies" based on his previous purchases.

“Relo's thoughtful timing has increased our replenishment revenue, and I'm sure customers appreciate getting more timely emails!”

Griffin Lynch, COO, BATCH

Lastly, BATCH added Relo’s exclusive Magic Cart Feature to make checkout smoother for customers. Smooth Cart is a mobile-optimized, personalized landing page designed for a better shopping experience. Magic cart is

  • Mobile first
  • Pre-loaded with the customer's last order
  • Personalised with add-on product recommendations
  • Connected to a pre-loaded Shopify checkout.
  • Customised in a few clicks to your brand

The ease of implementation and their support in the onboarding process. I'm always hesitant to add another app to the tech stack, but they handled most of the build-out, allowing us to test relatively quickly and easily.
